Driving Miss Stalker: A Stalker’s Car Obsession

Yep, the title says it all. Our stalker was obsessed with our vehicle. What would happen? Well about the same thing if you let your sugar filled 7 year old loose in the vehicle unsupervised. nearly every control, mirror, button etc would be messed with. Why? Why do the 7 year olds do this as well? Yet another mystery unsolved.

How long did this go on? Several years in phases with more and then less activity in or on the vehicle. I think the point was not to steal the car but to just mess with it, like the ultimate in ‘crazy making’ with an infantile 13 year old playing the “I know that you know that I know but no one else knows you know that I know game.”

Often anything left in the vehicle would be taken only to be returned at a later date and sometimes in a different condition than when it was left there. The manual was taken and returned several times. This no doubt was for the education of the stalker so they could harrass even more effectively than before by actually knowing more about how the vehicle worked.

They stole a set of keys at one point and even though  we had the whole set re-done with a new signal for the remote. They likely still used it manually. A few things we found out after having the vehicle repaired as well as new keys include:

• If you have a key fob stolen(this will vary from vehicle to vehicle, our was and American made vehicle from 2010) there may be more to the process than just getting a new key fob and having the signal of the key fob changed and re connected.
• You may have to have the entire steering column re-done(nope, not the technical term but, that was what happened in our case)
• With the fancy pants keyless fobs the process may or may not need to gut your steering column since push button ignition don’t require keys. It’s just getting the signal changed( not too dissimilar to changing the SIM card on a Smartphone).

So, yes in the end another vehicle and a whole other slew of things will bring closure to this type of circumstance. In the meantime, when you have a so desperate for YOUR attention individual/s we will obsess over anything you pay attention to in your environment type of thing going on, take your safety seriously.  This went on any time of year, during all hours of the night sometimes and then periods of time with nothing. This was no joke.
